Barford Tigers Sports Club (BTSC) will operate as an umbrella organisation to all the sports sections (Hockey, Football, Kabaddi, etc ) as well as all civic, social and wellbeing activities at the newly built facility for the wider local community.
Barford Tigers Sports Club Limited is a Community Benefit Society registered by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014 (Registration No: 8916). The Society is further registered by the
HMRC as a charity for tax purposes (HMRC Charities reference No: ZD32286).
As a community sports and well-being club, BTSC is developing a permanent home as a community hub, offering access to organised sport, physical activity, civic and health well-being services to the local community. BTSC believes that promoting inclusivity and community cohesion should be central to this broader development plan and ranks of equal importance to top-class sport at the site. A safe, secure, accessible, and high-quality facility will enable BTSC to build upon the B2022 Commonwealth Games legacy and build an ever-lasting legacy of grass-roots participation in physical activity in an inner-city location that currently lacks such provision.
The new sports facility and community hub is to be located approximately 3 miles north of Birmingham City Centre will consist of the following facilities:
- 1 x full artificial turf pitch (“ATP”), predominantly for Hockey and Youth Football
- 1 x half-sized artificial turf pitch for 7-a-side Football and Hockey
- 1 x 11-a-side grass pitch for Youth Football
- Indoor Sports Hall for Kabaddi and other indoor activities
- Community Pavilion and Event Activity Rooms
- Associated Ancillary Facilities – Changing rooms, storage area, car parking, and walkways.
The capital costs for Barford Tigers Project 60 are estimated at approximately £4.0M. The up-front capital expenditure required will be met via a number of channels and Crowdfunder being one of these. In addition we will obtain grants from Sport England, Community Share Scheme, West Midlands Combined Authority, Heritage Lottery funding and Central Government Levelling up Fund etc.
Note: The Crowdfunder platform we are using to collect donations suggests a 20% "tip" to Crowdfunder by default, but you can scroll down & select "Enter Custom Amount" and enter £0 (Zero) if you wish - BTSC does NOT get any of that "tip". Adding (or leaving out) a "tip" for Crowdfunder is your personal choice as a supporter of Barford Tigers Sports Club..
