Barbican Botanist Gin - First Batch funder

Aim

We want to produce the first 5 batches (105 litres) of Barbican Botanist Gin. A fabulous new Artisan Gin to our own unique recipe.

Barbican Botanist is a small batch, hand crafted Gin distilled in the South West of England. Fresh and citrusy nose translate to the palate, particularly with our higher abv of 45%. With undertones of earthy notes and slight sweet finish from the fennel seed.

We’ve developed Barbican Botanist to our exact requirements and produced the first ‘pre-production’ batch; we love it and we hope you will too!

We now want to go into full production but we will still be producing Barbican Botanist in very small batches, 21 litres to be precise, this way we produce a fantastic gin, slow distilled so that we can ensure every single bottle is to the very highest quality.

So, we know it’s a fantastic gin but we need a little help getting it produced.

Our Story

We’re Doreen and Warren, the team behind Little Gin Box which from a standing start in June 2016, has very quickly become one of the UK’s favourite Artisan gin subscription companies.

We love gin, and inspired by the vast array of wonderful Artisan Gins being made by the small craft distillers in the UK, we started Little Gin Box so that we could share those wonderful gins with fellow gin lovers.

Being surrounded by gin every day made us realise that we weren’t going to be satisfied by simply providing our customers with wonderful gin, we wanted to make our own gin!

We started experimenting with a vast array of botanicals but we were drawn to one which we realised wasn’t be widely used, despite it creating a wonderful gin, That botanical was milk thistle. We then added fennel and the result was wonderful. Finally, we wanted to give our gin some real spirit, and to do so, we’re producing it at 45% volume. The result, we believe, is a fantastic Gin.

Finally, we needed a name, and what better than giving a nod to our adopted home of Plymouth and the beautiful, historic area that we live in, the Barbican, which is not only our home, but also home to Plymouths other great gin, Plymouth Gin!
