The Banbury Early Music Festival is a relatively new addition to the UK’s early music scene. Since its debut in 2024, this weekend-long event has drawn musicians and audiences from across the country.
This year's festival is from Saturday 27th - Sunday 28th September 2025 taking place in central Banbury, Oxfordshire.
Organised by three local passionate and professional early music specialists Heidi Fardell, Dylan McCaig and Alison Kinder, the Banbury Early Music Festival offers early music enthusiasts and newcomers alike the chance to participate in inspiring workshops, enjoy world-class concerts, leaf through a myriad of music and try out early instruments until their heart's content!
Last year's festival:
Last year, the Banbury Early Music Festival was privileged to receive generous funding, which played a crucial role in the success of our debut event. However, several of those funding sources are not available this year. As we plan to expand the festival’s offerings with additional workshops, performances and community outreach initiatives, our costs will inevitably increase.
The success of this year’s festival now depends on the vital support of our crowdfunder! Your contributions will help secure venues and book artists, with all proceeds reinvested directly into the festival. With your help, we can secure the festival’s future, ensuring we can continue to bring the rich traditions of early music to the Banbury community!
Our fantastic concert line-up for this year:
We are already so fortunate to have some great partners supporting us! Chelys and Rune have received a grant from the Continuo Foundation for their concerts, the Music Reprieval Trust are lending their support too, and the Midlands Early Music Forum are generously helping out with the workshops again!
So now, all we need is you and your support!
