BANBURY BABY BANK & UNIFORM EXCHANGE GOALS
To save Money for families and the environment by:
- Relieving poverty in the Banbury area by providing good quality new and pre-owned baby, school uniforms and maternity items to families in need.
- Promote sustainable living by reducing the volume of items (clothes, toys, equipment, furniture) disposed of in landfill and upcycling goods that still have plenty of life left.
- Redistribute resources from where they are abundant to where they are lacking, reducing parental stress, anxiety and depression, in turn helping children.
- Help families send their children to school in proper uniform reducing the risk of punishments for incorrect uniforms and bullying.
- Bridge the gap many families across Banbury and surrounding villages face, with rising living and uniform costs, who can no longer receive a school uniform grant to help with costs.
- Encourage volunteers who are isolated or suffering from other health issues that could benefit from helping others and social prescribing
- Offer access to computers for job searches, internet access, and affordable evening classes for adults to reconnect after periods of isolation especially after covid, through sports and leisure activities.
- To signpost people to other help locally available that could help them and their family
- Run family coffee mornings, stay and plays, community events to encourage socialising and community involvement.
Funds raised go towards purchasing items we can't give secondhand like cot mattresses or car seats, or items we don't have but families need, as well as publicity to make sure people are aware they can get help, and running costs.
