Aim

Raising funds to stage 'Bad Indian', a powerful one-man show exploring identity, culture and belonging through humour and storytelling.

A story about identity, expectation, and what it takes to choose yourself.

I grew up being told who I should be.
What I should study. Who I should date. What success should look like.

For a long time, I followed that path.
I built a career in finance, worked as a stockbroker in Hong Kong… and from the outside, it looked like everything was working.

But something didn’t feel right.

So I left.

Over time, those experiences began to take shape as a story.

Bad Indian is a one-man show inspired by real events - exploring identity, family, culture and belonging through humour, storytelling and movement.

At its heart, it asks a simple question:
What happens when you stop living the life expected of you… and start choosing your own?

Over the past year, the show has been developed through intimate salon performances and scratch nights.

The response has been powerful. Audiences have been connecting deeply with the honesty, humour, and shared experience of navigating identity.

Now, the next step is to bring Bad Indian to a wider audience through a London run.

🎯 The Vision

This campaign will fund a 5-night London run - a crucial step in building momentum, attracting producers, and taking the show to the next stage.

The long-term vision is to:

  • Tour nationally and internationally
  • Develop the show for screen as an episodic series
  • Continue telling honest, nuanced stories about identity and belonging

💸 Where the money will go

Your support will go directly towards:

  • Theatre hire
  • Rehearsal space
  • Creative team (director, sound, movement)
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Production costs

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring this story to life.

❤️ Why this matters

Stories like this don’t always get told.

Not because they don’t exist, but because they sit in the spaces between cultures, expectations, and identities.

Bad Indian steps into that space - not to provide neat answers - but to explore it honestly.

🙏 Thank you

If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit the mould…
If you’ve ever felt caught between different versions of yourself…

This story is for you.

Thank you for being part of bringing it to life.
