Aim

Back our girls rugby team! Every donation helps provide kit, coaching and opportunities to build confidence and succeed.

Who are we?

Wigan St Pats Girls Rugby is a growing section of our community club, proudly running teams at U11s, U13s and U15s. Our aim is to give more girls the opportunity to play Rugby League in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where they can build confidence, make friends and stay active. With growing interest in the girls' game, we're passionate about expanding our section, welcoming new players and creating even more opportunities for girls to enjoy sport and reach their potential both on and off the field.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our girls' section is growing rapidly, and we want to ensure every player has the equipment, opportunities and sense of belonging they deserve. The funds raised will help us provide essential training equipment, improve the quality of our sessions and invest in bespoke training kit for our players.

While Wigan St Pats is proudly one club, we believe our girls deserve an identity of their own that they can wear with pride. Personalised training kit is about much more than clothing; it helps build team spirit, creates a sense of unity and belonging, and allows every player to feel part of something special. By supporting our campaign, you'll be helping us create an environment where girls can thrive, develop confidence, make lasting friendships and continue their Rugby League journey.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We are committed to being transparent about how your donations will benefit our girls' section. The funds raised will be used to provide essential equipment and bespoke training kit that will help our players develop, feel part of the team and take pride in representing Wigan St Pats.

Planned budget:

  • Personalised training tracksuits (top, pants and T-shirt): £68 per player
  • Team backpacks: £38 per player
  • Agility training equipment: £25-£50 per set
  • Rugby ball carry bags: £20-£75 each, depending on quality and capacity

By investing in both training equipment and personalised kit, we'll create a stronger team identity, improve training sessions and give our girls a sense of belonging that helps build confidence on and off the pitch. Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly support the growth and development of girls' rugby at Wigan St Pats

Community impact

Wigan St Pats Girls Rugby is about much more than sport. We are creating opportunities for girls of all ages to get active, build confidence and feel part of a team in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

Our girls' section brings together players from different backgrounds, helping them develop friendships, teamwork, resilience and a sense of belonging. By giving girls their own identity within the club, we empower them to take pride in representing their team and community.

The impact extends beyond the players themselves. Rugby brings families together, creating a strong support network of parents, siblings, volunteers and local supporters. Every training session and match day strengthens community connections and provides positive opportunities for young people to thrive.

We welcome everyone, regardless of experience or ability, and are committed to ensuring that every girl who wants to play rugby has the chance to do so. By supporting our campaign, you'll be helping us grow the girls' game, inspire the next generation and create an environment where everyone feels valued, supported and welcome.
