Independent media and a better forum for real public discussion and debate is crucial. Change is needed.

Bottom up journalism is a necessary antidote to msm never more than now. We need concepts like Bella, our very survival depends upon it.

We must stick together and defend a free press.

I wish this set-up had a way of responding to individual comments - but just to say a huge thanks to you all - that's us passed the £4k mark and 82% of the way to our target with 5 days left as I write (Thursday 25th April). This is some achievement given the terrible times we live in. Bella is a necessary adjunct to the independence movement. Most days, its articles inspire me and make me more angry our country is held back by a state that is becoming more alien to Scottish values and tradition month by month and not only prevents our democratic right to have another indyref but ensures the Scottish Parliament is undermined at every turn.
