On the 2nd September 2021 we'd raised £1,330 with 47 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We’re asking for your help to raise £1500 to allow for the production and distribution of 25 “Setobags” (each valued at £50) which contain important education tools for children living in Glasgow. Our stretch target goal is £3000, the other £1500 will be reinvested into Setovilla CIC to support the creation of future products and allow us to continue our amazing work helping children. Setovilla CIC will also support this campaign by donating 60% of our proceeds from the sale of ọkọ̀ drinks towards making Setobags for the children.
We have partnered with Royston Youth Action (http://roystonyouthaction.co.uk), a community organisation based in Glasgow, Scotland. Royston Youth Action are committed to supporting the development of individuals through a process of empowerment underpinned by education and experience. Royston Youth Action will help us to identify and distribute the Setobags raised from this campaign to the children who need it the most.
Setovilla CIC is a social enterprise aspiring to help children living in education poverty. We are on a mission to help children succeed! We sell great food and drink products and pledge 60% of our proceeds to creating and distributing Setobags. Each Setobag, worth £50, is put together with each child's individual needs in mind. It gives each recipient the opportunity to learn and develop at home or school. Each child gets to choose the contents of their Setobag.
There are currently 3 Setobag options available:
We've recently launched ọkọ̀ drinks! ọkọ̀ drinks are healthy and delicious Hibiscus-infused beverages that exist to make a difference! Crafted by Nigerian-British foodie content creator, Temi Ohuneniese, ọkọ̀ drinks offer a healthy alternative to mainstream fruit beverages on the market today. ọkọ̀ drinks are organic as Hibiscus is infused with hints of peppermint, botanical extracts like Yerba Mate, Rosemary, Cinnamon and lightly sweetened with unrefined cane sugar/stevia. ọkọ̀ drinks have no artificial flavourings and sweeteners. They also have a rich, refreshing and crisp flavour making them a perfect treat drank alone or used as a mixer.
Growing up surrounded by Nigerian food and culture, Hibiscus iced tea (called Zobo) was a favourite of Temi’s and is the influence behind her unique and delicious flavour pairings in ọkọ̀ drinks. Recognising the health benefits of Hibiscus, Temi noticed a gap in the market for Hibiscus-based beverages and decided to sell her concoctions to create something that was both good for the body and good for the soul.
As a brand, we are focused on feeling good and doing good which is why we work closely with fair trade approved farmers in Western Africa.
Having been used around the world for centuries because of its multiple health benefits, Hibiscus is rich in Vitamin A, C and K. Hibiscus is a great natural ingredient for: Boosting antioxidant levels, helping to reduce blood pressure, helping to reduce blood fat level, promoting a healthy liver, promoting weight loss and fighting bad bacteria
For ọkọ̀ drinks, the Hibiscus is infused with botanical extracts all of which offer an abundance of health benefits such as a natural energy boost, good digestion, reduced inflammation, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.
To develop our signature ọkọ̀ drinks, we have devised the optimum time and temperature for infusing our Hibiscus with spices and herbs. We use filtered water and lightly sweeten the infusion with natural flavourings and unrefined cane sugar/stevia. We use pasteurisation as the preservative method for ọkọ̀ drinks. Quality assurance is of the utmost priority, so be rest assured that each infusion batch is checked by Temi to ensure perfection.
ọkọ̀ Original has 37 calories per 100ml and is lightly sweetened with unrefined cane sugar. ọkọ̀ Zero Sugar has 24 calories for the whole bottle (330ml), making it perfectly suitable as a refreshing low calorie beverage. ọkọ̀ Zero combines the same flavours as ọkọ̀ Original but uses Stevia as a natural sweetener.
We are dedicated to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development goals, 60% of proceeds raised through the sale of ọkọ̀ drinks help fund ‘Setobags’ valued at £50 and each containing product to help children in educational poverty. The other 40% of the proceeds is reinvested back into the business to support our growth. We align with the following goals:
The funds from ọkọ̀ sales will go towards providing educational tools for those who need it most
By improving education standards and giving the children the tools to succeed, Setovilla hopes to reduce the gap between rich and poorer countries.
We ensure that our production and packaging is ethical and sustainable. We use recyclable packaging such as: glass bottles, recycled paper labels and cardboard delivery boxes! We are committed to bringing attention to the effects of Climate Change
