Back to School and Nursery Packs

Aim: Can you Pay it Forward to support children across Perth and Kinross receiving a free Back to School or Nursery Pack?
Can you Pay it Forward to support a child getting a free School Uniform Pack?
We are seeking funding to provide 1,000 Back to School packs for nursery and school pupils across Perthshire. Can you help us #BuyABairnABag?
Each Back to School and Nursery pack costs Social Flock £50 to make up and we are aiming to fundraise for 20 packs for children across Perth and Kinross.
What is in a Back to School Pack?
Our Back to School packs include up to 3 shirts, 2 bottoms, 2 jumpers/cardis, 2 PE t shirts, 2 PE bottoms, a PE jumper and a school bag. We also aim to include school shoes and/or trainers plus stationary and other back to school essentials like pack lunch boxes. Everything a child needs for taking part in their school journey.
We're looking for funds to support providing 800 Back to School Packs.
Packs are personalised to each schools colours and the child’s style preferences (so you can tell us if they won’t wear shorts, or will only wear cardigans!) and their sensory needs to make sure the packs are made to suit the individual. We also ask for bag colours and characters and aim to match up to their personal style.
And what about our Back to Nursery Packs?
We provide 5 days of mix and match outfits for any child attending a nursery across Perth and Kinross.
We offer messy play clothes so that children can fully engage in all nursery activities without worrying about damaging their day to day clothes.
We also include extras like shoes, vests, sunglasses and anything else we think will support a child having the best fun at nursery; learning through play!
Who can apply to for a Back to School and Nursery Pack?
We believe in making our projects as accessible as possible so if you live in Perth attend a local Nursery, Primary or High School, and wear clothing you can apply, and all applications are successful.
This means anyone impacted by the Cost of Living Crisis, or interested in being more climate aware, can apply no matter their income. Everyone is feeling the pinch right now and a pack of uniform really helps with 40% of carers saying their 2022 pack improved their mental health and over 50% stating it made their children excited to return to school.
Where will my money go?
We will use the funding to support Social Flock's delivery of our School Uniform Bank covering a range of possible costs:
School BagsWe want to ensure we are purchasing bags that will last our community the full school year and with high quality school bags ranging from £15 - £40!
School Shoes
Kids need durable, well fitting footwear - sometimes multiple pairs of shoes to engage in all their activities in a school day. Adult size footwear usually costs around £50 so if we don't have preloved or new shoes to put into packs we provide a voucher towards the cost of footwear which lets parents go and buy the right type of shoe for their child which fits into our 'second-hand as first choice, cash first as second choice' ethos!
Delivery of Packs
We offer FREE doorstep delivery for all of our projects and so we need to raise funds to support this. Fuel and sustenance costs are around £3 per pack we deliver and we aim to find partners to help make this happen quickly and effectively!
