Football should be fun - not financially dangerous.
Every weekend, millions of fans sit down to enjoy the game they love.
But too many are pressured into participating rather than just spectating - pushed into betting, boosted odds, “acca culture,” and constant gambling ads everywhere they look.
What starts as banter can quickly become stress.
What starts as small stakes can grow into losses that hurt joy, confidence, and even relationships.
As the game becomes more commercialised, fans feel the pressure to spend instead of simply enjoy football for what it is.
We believe fans deserve better - and that’s why we’re building Sladders.

Why I’m building this
Hi, I’m Tom - founder of Sladders.
I grew up loving football. The togetherness. The atmosphere. The people.
But over the years, I watched something shift.
The game became saturated with products designed to maximise spend, not enjoyment.
I’ve seen friends, colleagues and everyday fans - loyal supporters - lose more money, time, confidence and joy than they ever intended.
I believed there had to be a better way.
A healthier way.
A community-first way.
Sladders is my attempt to build that.
This is bigger than an app - it’s a movement
Sladders exists to:
- Give fans a safer online alternative to risky betting
- Build a positive, supportive football community
- Offer competition that is fun, predictable and capped
- Create a platform that gives back through community-directed impact
As we grow, we’re pledging 2% of all future net profits to a community impact fund - and Founding Committee backers will nominate, vote and shape where that funding goes, whether:
- youth programmes
- mental health support
- grassroots clubs
- community initiatives
- or causes the community believes deserve attention
