I never imagined I’d be writing something like this. As a grandmother, the joy that comes over you when you hear that first cry or how proud you are seeing your child bring a new life the world is what makes my world spin. But Monday evening, that joyful event turned to fear in a matter of seconds. Our precious grandchild suffered an unexpected, life-threatening emergency during delivery and DeAna had to be rushed to the OR to undergo an emergency C-section due to the infants oxygen supply being compromised. Ariel was delivered feet first and had to be rushed straight to the NICU as she was without oxygen for a period of time and had to be recessatated and flown to Banner Desert Cardons Children Hospital where she is currently fighting so hard, surrounded by tubes and machines that no parent should ever have to see. DeAna(mom) had to stay behind while she recovered from the surgery and is expected to be discharged today, hopefully. My daughter has not been able to hold or comfort her precious baby girl. My son-in-law who was with Ariel until yesterday, had to go with their other 4 children and has yet been able to return back with baby. My family has been very supportive and helpful as much as they can Thank you all very much., but their need to be by Ariel's side to comfort and help her to a full recovery to come home isn't financially possible due to the distance of baby and home.Right now, between lost income, travel back and forth to the hospital, gas, meals, and somewhere to stay with the other children, the costs are piling up quickly. They just want to be near their baby, and I want to do everything I can to help make that possible.If you can, please consider helping with any amount. Every little bit will help them focus on what matters most—being there for their child.
