Aim

We're aiming to get a mobile cricket cage and artificial pitch to help social distancing by increasing our nets capacity for all age groups

1593586102_funding_2.pngBablake Old Boys Cricket Club is a non-profit making, multi-cultural local club based in Norman Place Road Coventry with the 1st XI having being promoted to the Warwickshire Premier Division.  There is a strong link to Bablake School who own the playing fields where the club plays its cricket.

The club runs 4 senior teams plus age groups at U9's, U10's U11's, U12's, U13's, U15's, U16's and an All Stars 5-8 years group with both boys and girls.  Next season the club will participate in the Dynamos programme for the 8-11 year olds - again for boys and girls.

Bablake OBCC also run an inclusive (disability) section which was the first of its kind by a community club in the County created by Clark McCallum and has been running for 6 seasons now for young people with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, autism and visual impairments.  These are in the 12-19 age bracket covering a range of ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds for both male and female participants.

Currently....

The cricket season has still not started and we are still awaiting guidance from the Government on that.  Under any circumstances we are going to see a very short season for 2020 meaning we cannot take subscriptions and all the social activities are completely curtailed.  There are now some practice activities going on with social distancing regulations and sanitation in place.

1593586140_funding_1.pngWhy do we need your support?

With COVID-19 stopping all activities and income into the club we are currently unable to invest in much-needed equipment which will help us to cope with future expected regulations around social distancing.

1593632842_funding_3.pngWhere is your money going?

The club is focusing on increasing netting practice capacity by adding at least one 10 metre mobile cricket cage and an artificial Astro Turf pitch for use by all sections of the club but primarily the junior sections.  The growth of junior teams across age groups from 5 to 16 demands more and better equipment which is impossible to fund with no income being generated.

How do you know we did what we said we would?

Announcements will be made on our Facebook pages with pictures attached.

And lastly......

Thank you from everybody at the club for your help and support in these difficult times.
