Azalea High Wycombe

RCN 1194641, High Wycombe

Azalea High Wycombe is a Christian Charity and practical ministry established about 18 months ago to help/support women affected by sexual exploitation and trafficking, including those involved in the sex trade. We provide a weekly outreach and drop-in service which started in April 2021, when we opened the church hall as a drop in space for the women to come in to from off the streets into a welcoming environment. Since June 2021 Azalea High Wycombe has added a weekly outreach to the existing drop in service, and we already see how this consistency is helping us to build enduring relationships with the women. We continue to pray about every aspect of this ministry, and we are excited to see what God is doing and will do…

Azalea High Wycombe

In a nutshell...

Azalea High Wycombe is a Christian Charity and practical Ministry established to help/support women affected by sexual exploitation and trafficking, including those involved in the sex trade, by providing a weekly walking outreach to meet with the women and offer support. Alongside the outreach, we also provide drop-in space where the women can come to for hot drinks, a listening ear, sit down, cake, and prayer. We believe that the women are precious to God, and we want to demonstrate His amazing love to them. Our prayer and hope is that, through the influence of this Ministry, women will be liberated and "walk free" from this demeaning lifestyle.

Azalea High Wycombe is first and foremost a prayer movement. And prayer remains the 'backbone' of the Ministry, it forms the basis for all that we do.

So, FIRST, WE PRAYED...

In 2017 a group of people began to gather to pray for women in High Wycombe who were caught in sex exploitation and trafficking. This group of Christians became aware of this situation in High Wycombe since the ‘working’ area was immediately outside the church’s front door. The group met weekly to pray to God for healing and restoration. We learned a little more about the women, who live incredibly difficult and dangerous lives, and we prayed for their protection.

In 2018 the church decided to do something about the situation. And we continued to pray...

In April 2021 we opened the church hall as a drop in space, a 'haven' where the women could come in from off the streets and into a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Still, we continued to pray...

Since June 2021 Azalea High Wycombe has offered a weekly outreach and drop in service to the women, and we already see how this consistency is helping us to build enduring relationships with the women. We continue to pray about every aspect of this Ministry, and we are excited at what God is doing through the Ministry; we are even more excited as we anticipate the magnitude of what God will do…
