Ava's Project Paradiso

Aim

I am raising money for Project Paradiso, an opportunity for young filmmakers to learn and create a professional film.

I have always loved stories. Stories are how humans communicate, share their experiences and get an idea of the wider world beyond our own. Films are also so special for me: I was born profoundly deaf and before I could read the subtitles on films I was already mesmerized by all the shots and characters, sometimes coming up with my own plots when I wasn't sure what was going on!

I was so thrilled to be chosen to direct this year's Project Paradiso film. Project Paradiso is an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity for young people such as myself to learn to create a professional film in Sicily. Part of the experience is learning to fundraise ourselves, and every penny you donate will go straight to funding our dreams. The film from last year turned out amazingly and is having a life on the festival circuit. 

This opportunity, if greenlit, will help me so much in launching my dream career in the film industry, so I can tell my story and so many others.
