Ava’s Marathon challenge!

Aim
With the 2nd Lockdown closing our pools again, I am fundraising to help my Swimming Club and all of the amazing coaches at Braunstone SC!
I joined Braunstone Swimming Club when I was 5 years old, because I loved to swim and wanted more! I have trained up to 5 times a week since then and hardly ever missed a session, I turned 9 last summer and was finally old enough to start competing and just loved every bit of competing in Meets and Galas. I competed in my first County Championship in January and February this year and was so happy to place 4th in Leicestershire for my age group!
In March my Swimming Club and pools had to close which meant I couldn’t train anymore, I didn’t want the Pandemic to effect my training so I started running with my Dad to keep up my fitness, apart from a few online land training sessions and trying open water swimming for the first time, this was my only way of training until swimming pools reopened, I could finally get back to the pool training when my Swimming Club could open on 5th September! This was the best feeling ever for me! I haven’t missed a session since they reopened! I have even had a trial for the City of Leicester Swimming Club and been offered a place in their Development Squad, I was counting down the days until I was to start training there too on 10th November!
Although I know the Lockdown 2 has been put in place to save lives and I fully support it, I can’t stop feeling really sad that I can’t swim anymore because the pools and my swimming club has had to close again, I don’t know when my next training session will be! Because of this I am going to start running again until I can swim again!
With my club only opened for 2 months since March and now having to close again I am challenging myself to run the distance of a full Marathon over the lockdown 2 month of November! I had the idea to see if I could get people to sponsor me so that I can raise as much as I can for my Swimming Club and all of the amazing coaches who are being affected by the Covid 19 Pandemic,
I would just love it and be so grateful if you can help support me in my challenge and help my club, Braunstone Swimming Club at the same time!
