autoLED - Motion Activated LED Light Strip Kit

Aim

Energy efficient motion activated flexible LED light strip kit which doesn't require any tools or skills to install.

Project Aim

We plan to launch an energy efficient movement activated flexible LED light strip kit which doesn't require any tools or skills to install. The kit will include all the components you need to create motion activated LED lighting within your home.

We want to initally launch an "under bed" light kit which will include:

• 2 x 2.5m Self Adhesive White LED Strips
• 1 x Motion and Light senstive PIR sensor
• 1 x Power splitter (To power both strips)
• 1 x UK Power Plug
• Cable tidy clips

The Product

autoLED:bedlight (inital product in the range) comes with all the components you'll need to install an under bed light system that activates when movement is detected. The custom made PIR sensor that incorporates a light sensor and adjustable "on time" from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, will only activate in low light/in the dark and only for as long as you specify to suit your needs and save energy.

The LED strips can be cut to size by cutting along any of the "cut" lines marked on the strip (approx every 3cm).

Installing this product under your bed can aid with getting in and out of bed during the night. Step out of bed and your floor will be illuminated without turning on a light switch and waking anyone else up.

Install under a cot so you can tend to any small human beings you have living with you without having to turn on the main light in the room or check up on them without waking them up.

The bedlight is just the first of many products and variations we have planned for autoLED.

Funding

So, what will we use the money for?

The £3000 target is to cover the costs of an inital order with our supplier, we are already in talks with them and have been working on a prototype for the last few months and have made great progress.

The Motion and Light Senstive PIR sensor is being custom made for us to combine both functions into one small component, and there will be a charge to develop this component.

The rest of the funding go towards the design and production of the boxing/packaging for the product.
