About the project

Hello, my name is Dan Caporal I am a bioengineering student at FGCU, I am working with a software engineers to develop a program that will help children with autism develop better vocal skills. I am a father of an autistic young boy who is pretty amazing, I also volunteer at his school pretty regularly and love hanging out with all the kids in his class. I am becoming a senior as of fall and would love to work on this project as much as posisble. However, I cant do that without your help. Funding would give me enough of a boost to higher a bigger team of software engineers for the code that needs to be produced to lauch this project into a research and development phase. Also being a special needs parent I find it hard to fund this program on my own, because children with autism in Florida aren't helped by government programs as other areas. As much as I would love to move it would only cost me more since my out of state tuiton would go up. I would greatly appreciate any amount of funding that you could give me for assistance with this program.

Observing kids with autism at my sons school, I notice alot of them are very emotional and affectionate even though they can't express it like you or I, the smiles on thier face tell you a good amount of the story. But you can also see the very vivid frustration in them when they can tell you what they want to say. So with lots of reserach and development me and my team of software engineers, A few professors, local fort myers therapists, and most of my classmates will be working to fix this problem that these kids have. I am very deeply invested in this project and even though the proper funding isn't available yet I continue the hard grind upwards to fixing this problem. However, if i am to make any strides in this program I will definatly need to incorperate alot more technology then just the schools oculus and a university computer. I need to start composing stations that our local therapists, so they can bring it to where the kids are comfortable and famailiar with thier settings. I will need to purchase more utilities for my software team to continue development and for my non bias'd data collection team so they have suitable data. I am trying to work on this one step at a time, I will continue to work on this til we have made suitable improvement. After this product is made my software team will continue to update this program til it is suitable as a tool for all therapists to use, allowing them just one more tool in the fight of helping children with autism become better adjusted in our everyday world.
