New stretch target
We'll use this extra money to get the ball rolling with decorating the venue and making it welcoming and accessible.
We URGENTLY need your help to raise the funds needed to reopen. Employing autistic staff and providing safer spaces for marginalised groups.

Aubergine is more than a community cafe with big social goals...
Aubergine has become a hub for not only Autistic people, but those from other communities within which we belong, such as BAME and LGBT+ communities.
After an amazingly successful trial at our High Street Arcade premises, where we outgrew the capacity very quickly, we have now the opportunity to set up in a bigger, better and even more accessible venue, all on the ground floor! Through no fault of our own, we had to leave High Street Arcade suddenly, when it was realised that the premises wasn't safe for us to use.
After a break and some negotiating, we now desperately need your help to get plans for our reopening in motion and ask if you can please give whatever you can afford towards our goal of £3000, which will enable us to open our doors once more.
The new premises will have:
- Free parking options, (Blue Badge holders will be able to park very close)
- Wet room for adult changing
- Evening opening
- Alcohol licence
- D&D
- Bigger menu, including all day breakfasts!
- Work placements for Autistic adults with support needs
- Christmas Day celebrations for LGBT+ people who have been displaced

Why support Aubergine Cafe and Events CIC?
Only 15% of Autistic adults in the UK are in full time paid employment. Many of us want to and are able to work, but working environments aren't really set up for us. We're disrupting the usual way of going about business as usual by developing innovating working practices and creating model business environments which we can develop into training packages for others to learn from our experiences.
Join us in the revolution!
Breakdown of funds:
£400 agency fee and drawing up of an individualised 3 year lease.
£1900 deposit.
£700 storage/moving/basic supplies
This covers our most urgent basic moving in costs, and does not cover the decoration and extra equipment needed, so if you can help us to boost our fundraiser to beat this amount then we'll love you forever, as will all those who come to depend upon us! <3
Thank you so much!
