We're still collecting donations

Attic are a small arts organisation based in Mitcham, South London. We see ourselves as an arts centre without walls, providing participatory creative activities to older people at risk of isolation and young people facing disadvantage.
We regularly provide up to 15 community projects with people from a range of backgrounds and ages including singing workshops, dance workshops, Dementia friendly activities, school holiday workshops, activities that support the integration and acclimatisation of newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers, confidence boosting workshops for young people at risk of underachieving and living in poverty and much more.
We work with over 100 people each week throughout the borough but focus most of our work in the east of Merton, a deprived area with many residents living in poverty.
Our work is hugely valued and recognised by the community.
We are looking for funding to extend the session for our Mitcham group of singers. We want to start the session 30 minutes earlier and give them all a hot drink and a snack. Some members live alone and have very few opportunities to socialise and get out of the house. Others are carers for elderly relatives. We want to give them the chance to come together and chat, connect with people and enjoy themselves. This will make for a more united group and a happier vibe when singing, allowing people to spend time in other's company for an afternoon. Whilst we don't have the capacity to provide a full meal, we can make sure they are hydrated and have a health snack so they have enough energy to sing, travel home and continue their day.
Money will go towards the cost of the hall hire for the additional time as well as the cost of refreshments. Ideally fruit, oatcakes and other healthy snacks that will provide sustenance
