Setup a twice weekly inclusive gardening club, connecting people and teaching them to grow from scratch for community and nature's benefit.
The organisation delivering this project will be the Assheton Avenue Residents' Association (AARA). AARA is a long established constituted group of volunteers. AARA exists to represent the views of residents, address social isolation, invest in people, bring neighbours together to provide a sense of community and to improve the local area for people and wildlife.
We're raising funds to setup an ongoing twice weekly gardening club, staffed and supported by volunteers. We're trying to raise c.£4200 to procure a potting shed, tools and materials to make our vision a reality.
The gardening club would benefit: (1) people by bringing them together, connecting them with the earth and passing on skills, (2) the environment via ecologically sound and sustainable gardening and (3) the area by ensuring regular management of, and pride in, this piece of land.
