I’m fundraising to help me access gender affirming top surgery - to help my body feel like my home. Help me get this weight off my chest!
Hi Y’all!
It’s Ash, our resident sassy, nonbinary American.
As many of y’all know, I’ve been fairly open about my gender identity and subsequent medical transition. I’m here raising funds for the next stage in my gender transition - top surgery. What surgery - some may ask? Well, as epic as my gender journey has been going thus far (I mean, have you seen my teenage beard? It has nearly climbed my chin!), there seems to be one thing I just can’t shake: this chest. Our time together has been grand, but I’m ready to unsubscribe and for that I’ll need your help.
Wait lists for access to affirming care on the NHS can take more than 7 years. I’m 4.5 years into that wait, but that’s just for initial consultation, not even close to surgery itself. Surgery wait times can be over 10 years long. The emotional cost of that wait is far too heavy and I can’t keep carrying it. So, here I am, humbly asking for community aid to help me speed this process up. Any and all contributions would be greatly appreciated as I try to feel more at home in my own skin.
No contribution is too big or too small, but don’t worry, I’m happy to incentivise where I can!
Contributions over £20 will include a limited edition custom sticker (design to be confirmed)
Contributions over £50 will include a hand-made by me chainmail fidget toy (pictures incoming)
There will be a special prize for the person who most closely guesses how heavy my chest is (morbid, I know, but we might as well make this fun!).
