Aim

We aim to raise £10,000 to get through the current crisis and ensure we are ready to welcome back players once restrictions are lifted.

Ashcott FC Needs You!

We are an FA Charter Standard Club, established in 2013 to enable children and adults from the local community to come together and enjoy playing football, in a fun and safe environment. Things couldn’t have been going better, both on and off the pitch, before Covid-19 hit all levels of football. 1615064033_fullsizerender_(002).jpeg

We have over 120 children and 60 Adults playing for the club. In the 2019/20 season the adult first team won the Yeovil League, securing promotion to the county league and achieving our long-term ambition to become a senior football club.

We provide boys and girls with a clear progression into adult football, from mini-kickers right up through the age groups from U7s to U16s, and we hope to enter an U18s team next season. There is a real community feel to the club, many adult players qualify to coach youth teams and we support older youth to undertake referee training - they in turn referee for our younger teams.

We are a volunteer run club, reliant on fundraising, match fees and player registrations to cover our costs.

Sadly, we were hit by the theft of mowers and equipment from our facility at the end of the first lockdown - increasing our costs at a vital time. We were staggered by the response we received following that theft and, because of that amazing support we were able to prepare to 'go again' for the 2020/21 season.

We were off to a great start, but unfortunately further lockdowns have meant that the club has been unable to:

  • Host fundraising events, which are a vital revenue source.

  • Run our regular tuck shop, again a key fundraiser

  • Charge adult match fees

We are hoping our fans, followers, local residents and local or national businesses can help us in any way they can to raise £10,000 to plug the financial gap left with the season being stopped so abruptly. This has drastically affected us and our ability to keep fundraising  both on and off the pitch at the pace we were.

Match funding can increase the total we raise

We have been awarded Sport England's 'Return to Play: Active Together' match funding. Sport England will match the monies raised to make our total even bigger! This will mean that any donations are worth more to us when donated through this Crowdfunder - so please do help us if you can!

We are aware, of course, that the current situation stretches beyond football, and into the wider community. We are now even more acutely aware of the importance of sport and community on both our physical and mental health.

Your support will enable up to:

  • Undertake essential maintenance to playing surfaces and ensure they are safe and well prepared for our return to football.
  • Purchase much needed new goal posts and dugouts.
  • Cover the cost of Covid adaptions to the changing rooms and external areas.
  • Replace lost income needed towards standard running costs.

1615047492_kids.jpgIf we can raise this amazing amount of money, the club can continue to thrive and grow.

Thank You!
