Aim

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to find out how they can participate in protecting our planet.

At Young Climate Warriors, we don’t believe that it is our children’s job to solve the climate crisis; but we do passionately believe that they - like all of us - should have the opportunity to find out how we can live more sustainably and feel empowered to shape their own path of positive action.

We provide unique practical support for teachers, educators, and parents to engage children (aged 7-14yrs) with climate change. By making climate education interactive and accessible, we are enabling children to have their voices heard, and giving them an opportunity to feel part of the solution.

Since 2019, we have reached over 38,000 children across the UK - from Glasgow to Redruth - through free school assemblies, hands-on eco-activities, our DofE programme, and carbon-busting challenges. With your support, we can expand our reach, and ensure that the next generation feels empowered to shape a positive future

Double Your Impact!

Every donation to this campaign is match-funded by Aviva (up to £250 per donor). That means every pound you give goes twice as far to support the next generation of climate warriors!

What We Do

We engage children and young people across the UK with our four programmes:

Ambassador-led Climate Change Assemblies: interactive in-person assemblies, shared by our team of locally-based Ambassadors to kindle sustainable living conversations and promote climate action in primary schools across the UK. Involving everyday objects - such as a t-shirt and a Fruit Shoot bottle - our assemblies invite children to consider how their daily actions are impacting the planet, and what positive changes they can make.

Carbon-busting challenges: weekly sustainable living challenges to be undertaken at home or in a local park. These fun, engaging and relevant challenges inspire action and an appreciation of nature, taking carbon literacy learning from school into the community. Children can receive '3 little actions award' certificates.

Climate Change Club in a Box: a ready-to-go eco-club ‘starter pack’ for schools, enabling students to dive deeper, build understanding and stimulate curiosity. Our 13 fully scripted downloadable sessions include simple yet detailed teachers’ notes, and are packed with activities and critical thinking discussion pointers. In 2026 our Ambassadors have started sharing these resources in schools - so we're expanding this element of the programme in 2027.

Duke of Edinburgh Award 3-month Climate Change Skills Programme: as an approved activity provider for DofE Award participants, we provide a 3-month programme of weekly challenges, helping young people grow ‘green skills’, invaluable for both future living and future careers. This programme empowers and highlights ‘the ordinary citizens driving extraordinary change and showing the way to a climate-smarter world’ (UN).

So, what’s our plan?

2026 has been a fantastic year for Young Climate Warriors. Our team of over 70 YCW Ambassadors have shared 100 in-person Climate Assemblies at Primary Schools across the UK, and 23 smaller group 'Climate Change Club in a Box' sessions - and we have supported over 60 young people through our DofE programme. Now, we’re looking ahead to 2027, and we want to have an even bigger impact!

Our goal is to reach a further 20,000+ children and young people by:

Sharing 120+ interactive assemblies in schools across the UK

Supporting 60+ eco-club/classroom discussions with our expanded Climate Change Club in a Box

Guiding a further 60 young people through our 3-month DofE programme

Supplying a further 150+ UK educators with weekly topic-based resources

During 2027 we are also excited to be increasing our support to our Ambassador team - both in relation to supporting them on their own climate journeys, and expanding the ways in which they can engage with our schools. Watch this space, we are developing an exciting programme...

To achieve all these targets we need to grow our operational capacity, whilst we run a very efficient effective team, we still need funding for core costs - mainly team salaries, Ambassador recruitment, and essential DBS checks. Every donation today, no matter how small, is a step closer to us achieving these goals - and a step closer to a better future for our planet!

As we like to say at Young Climate Warriors, “Little by little, a little becomes a lot” - help us turn a little difference into a lot of change today!

Why Support Young Climate Warriors?

You don’t have to take our word for it - we’ll let the feedback from children and teachers do the talking!

Who is behind Young Climate Warriors?

Katrina Judge founded Young Climate Warriors in 2019 with a vision that all children should have the opportunity to increase their understanding of climate change and feel inspired and empowered to choose to take positive action. She brings a wealth of experience after working in several climate-facing roles, and completing a Masters in Environmental Change.

Our dynamic Board of Trustees brings deep experience across corporate sustainability, charity impact, primary and SEN teaching, fundraising, and grassroots environmental action. This balance allows us to operate as a highly professional charity, despite our small size, while remaining deeply responsive to local community needs.

Since inception, we have built a firm national footprint:

We have engaged over 38,000 children across the UK

Our Climate Assemblies and Small group 'Climate Club' sessions have been shared in over 230 communities

Over 750 educators receive our weekly ‘schools pack’ resource

150 young people have been supported through our DofE programme

As active members of The Climate Coalition and Let’s Go Zero we are playing a collaborative role within the climate action network, maximising our efforts to encourage positive climate action and help make a difference for the future of our planet.
