Autism Spectrum HUB - Social/Work Space

Aim

We are raising money to undertake decoration and furnishing of a room at our premises for use by ASD Hub participants.

The past year has meant very limited opportunities for socialisation for the autism spectrum hub participants. 

There have also been many changes in how they access other areas of their lives - such as secondary school, higher education and activiti they attend. For many there will continue to be restrictions in face to face support and there is a danger that this will create additional difficulties.

We have some unused space at our new premises that we can modify to provide a new area for the autism spectrum particiapants to use to help provide additional support and a space they can use to avoid becoming more socially isolated. They will be abe ti sue this space at times outwith the formal support sessions.

They will also be able to use this space to work on educational and/or employment projects.

If we are successful in raising the funds the participants themselves will undertake to decorate and design the space. They will be supported by staff to undertake this project.
