To get to Australia in February to complete an Artist residency at Bundanon Arts Centre New South Wales
My friend and fellow creative Catherine Large and I have applied for and been awarded the opportunity to take an Artist Residency at Bundanon Art Museum in New South Wales, Australia. Bundanon — An art museum embedded in the landscape
Catherine and I met over 20 years ago when I was Artist in Residence at Queensland College of Art a part of Griffith University in Brisbane, Queensland. She was teaching, making superb enamel jewellery and juggling small children, but she invited me to her home and cooked me a meal every week of my stay. She also encouraged me to experiment with vitreous enamelling. We have always talked of having time in a studio together. We now have the gift of two weeks in the Dorothy Dwyer Silversmiths’ studio, "embedded in the landscape" to be creative away from her teaching and studio practice and my production business, to explore ideas without the noise of normal life. In October we heard our application had been successful, hurrah! In November we heard that our offer dates were 16 February – 1 March 2026. Really soon!
I had planned to apply for Arts funding but the short time between accepting the offer and departure have made this impossible.
I am reaching out for your help to get to Australia.
Any contribution however small would be so helpful and assist me greatly. I will keep in touch via Instagram sharing images of our progress and surroundings.
For any pledge of £55 or more, on my return to the UK, I will send to you a pair of earrings, born of the creative endeavours experienced on the residency. I will create a small range of earrings, and you can then make a choice. All I can tell you now is they will definitely have silver findings, posts and butterfly backs.
Thank you for your support.
