Aim

We want to raise money for essential new equipment for our Surf Life Saving Club in Brighton and Hove

We are a group of members of Brighton Surf Life Saving club ranging from age 8 to age 58 and we want to raise money to help the club to buy new equipment to help with our training.

We are going to swim or paddle our rescue boards from our base at Sealanes Brighton to Palace Pier on 25 July to help raise these funds and to mark World Drowning Prevention Day. This event was rescheduled after our previous sponsored swim had to be postponed due to dangerous conditions.

Our club is a volunteer run charity formed to save lives and improve the safety of beaches for our local community in Brighton & Hove.

Our volunteer coaches provide professionally recognised training in Surf Lifesaving, enabling us to become competent lifesavers. Our members go on to serve their local community as first responders and voluntary or professional lifeguards working on Brighton & Hove's beaches, nationally for the RNLI or worldwide.

Much of our equipment is old and damaged and we need more kit to support our growing membership so we can train more people to become lifesavers.

Surf Life Saving is nationally recognised and regulated by Surf Life Saving GB. It represents a lifelong commitment to learn, develop and maintain the skills needed to save lives.
