Aim

Restore Aros Hall’s stage power to bring back performances, events and community moments in Tobermory.

The Aros Hall sits at the heart of Tobermory Main Street, and has a special place in the hearts of the community.  Serving as a place to bring people together; the hall has hosted countless ceilidhs, drama productions, concerts, and community events such as the Christmas Pantomime and the local Mod - a celebration of our Gaelic culture.

THE PROBLEM

Right now, the backstage electrical system is no longer fit for purpose. Power issues mean stage lighting can’t be used, and there’s no reliable way to run a sound desk or PA system. This has significantly limited what we can host and threatens the future of performances and events in the space.

THE SOLUTION

We need to replace the fuse box and rewire the ageing backstage circuits to restore full functionality. The good news is we have a trusted local electrician ready to carry out the work, all we need now is the funding to make it happen.

THE IMPACT

Aros Hall is a vital community space, supporting local talent and welcoming artists from near and far. Its stage has seen everything from Inuit throat singers to early performances by the Mull Historical Society. It’s where young people perform for the first time during the local Mod, and where the community gathers each Christmas for the much-anticipated pantomime.

These things matter, building confidence, connection, and community spirit.

By restoring the stage, you’re helping to ensure that Aros Hall can continue to inspire, entertain, and bring people together for years to come; giving everyone, from first-time performers to seasoned artists, a place to shine.
