 New stretch target

Our aims remain the same and we will be able to help people for longer - providing them with food and a safe warm environment with advice, where needed and a warm cup of tea.

  • As fuel costs increase, the cost of running the foodbank has also increased, at the same time that donations are decreasing because our regular donors are also feeling the pinch of higher heating costs and other bills. Meanwhile, demand for our help has never been higher. We need help so we can continue to support the most vulnerable in our society.
  • Last month,  Arnold Foodbank provided emergency food to 650 local people. It was one of our toughest months ever.
  • This equates to an average of 50 local people per day who rely on our food services when we are open (Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays).
  • This is nearly double the national figures of other Trussell foodbanks and double the people we helped during the same period last year.
  • Based on our last six month figures, we're feeding roughly 200 children per month. This equates to around half a primary school. Per month. And we're just one foodbank covering a limited area. 200 children a month, who otherwise may not have eaten if it weren't for your generosity.
  • Demand is higher than ever with a 98% increase in the amount of food parcels given out compared to the same period last year.  For the first time we are having to buy in food to be able to keep up with the demand despite an increase in food donations from the public.
  • We fund a Citizens Advice Bureau advisor at our sessions to help people with income maximisation and general advice. Our hope is to work towards people in our community being in a position where their income matches their essential outgoings and there is no longer a need for a foodbank.
  • Any funds raised will go towards the extra food we are having to buy in as well as running costs to be able to keep all our services running with the strain of almost double the amount of parcels being supplied and an increase in people experiencing debt, as well as our own heating costs increasing.
