We're still collecting donations
On the 2nd March 2024 we'd raised £7,515 with 248 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
To celebrate Dundee United Football Club's detailed statistical history with fitting and immersive images as part of a new digital library.

On the 2nd March 2024 we'd raised £7,515 with 248 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Our initial fundraising target of £2500 will enable us to build the foundations of our digital memories project, and to acquire images for the club's greatest players and moments. Any funding over and above that amount will be used to further enhance the digital memories project and increase the size of the library.
The Arab Archive prides itself on having compiled the largest and most comprehensive record of Dundee United Football Club statistics anywhere on the web - verified and maintained thanks to the tireless work of volunteers and passionate supporters for 18 years.
Every player. Every match. Every appearance. Every goal. Over 1500 players and 5800 matches from 1909 to the present day. And it has remained free to access, and available for all, and it always will.
But if you are a regular Arab Archive user, you may have noticed that the site does not display any images on its player profiles, or match reports etc. The aim of the Arab Archive Digital Memories project is to change that.
When we launched the Arab Archive back in 2006, we wanted it to become a reference tool, but also a place where Arabs can take a trip back in time to indulge in fond memories and remind themselves of players/games of old. We believe that we have been at the forefront of football heritage since that time, and it is our aim to ensure that we stay ahead of the game, while enhancing the experience of Archive users.
The internet is changing. Better understanding of digital property and the use of artificial intelligence has placed a new emphasis on image rights and licensing, and the onus is now on website developers to ensure that they meet standards and understand the sources of their digital libraries.
With that comes a cost, and as a volunteer-run website, for all the great work that has been put into building the Archive, these changes left us with a decision to make. Pack it all up and call it a day - or find a solution that can work.
So, we have now launched the Arab Archive Digital Memories project to begin building a digital image library that we can be proud of - one that celebrates United's greatest players, and greatest moments, while ensuring that the already detailed statistical history we have built can be celebrated with the most fitting and immersive images available to us.
But we need your help.
The Arab Archive Digital Memories project is appealing to United supporters and followers of the Archive to consider pledging a donation (no matter how big or small) to help us meet out goal.
As a thank you, we will etch the name of every single donor on a special page on the Archive website, acknowledging every one as a patron of the Arab Archive, with incentives available for larger donations too.
Thank you for reading.
