Aquadare - Fundraiser To fund the annual running costs of this community volunteer led facility.
Aquadare, the free splashpad in Aberdare Park, owned and run by a group of dedicated volunteers brings thousands of children and families together every summer. It’s a place to play, cool off, and enjoy the park — without paying a penny.
But keeping Aquadare open isn’t free.
Each year it costs around £23,000 to run safely. These costs include:
Until now, short‑term funding helped us meet these costs. That funding has ended — and without new support, Aquadare risks not opening or being significantly reduced.
Friends of Aberdare Park is a volunteer‑led charity. We do everything we can to keep costs down and work closely with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, but we cannot carry these running costs alone.
Why Aquadare matters
Aquadare is much more than a splashpad.
We’ve also invested in solar panels and battery storage to reduce environmental impact and share clean energy with the wider park. Every decision we make is about sustainability — financial, environmental, and community‑led.
How your support helps
Every donation goes directly into keeping Aquadare open and free.
