The first Anthropology + Technology Conference was enthusiastically received in 2019. We want to keep having these important conversations!
This campaign was originally started by two of the 2019 conference keynotes, Roelof Pieters and Anna Kirah. Unfortunately the previous crowdfunding platform they used let us down and lost all our donations and donors, so Dawn has re-created the campaign on this site with Roelof's help.
When Roelof and Anna created the original campaign, they wrote:
"The Anthropology + Technology conference has been an amazing experience for many. Dawn Walter, of Mundy & Anson, has been a tremendous force of nature organising such a large gathering, mostly by herself. She met her goal and we are motivated to continue talking and acting for a common good.
Unfortunately, the conference was unable to break even financially. Some speakers have already decided to forego their travel and hosting reimbursements.
We, as attendees and speakers, would love to help out more not only for this year but for ensuring that we continue the dialogue. This is why we started this campaign.
We're already looking forward to an Anthropology + Technology Conference 2020, and are dedicated to helping out and evolving Dawn's concept with her. For all of YOU who are interested in transdisciplinary work where technology, social sciences and humanities work together for the common good, please support our cause!
If we all donate 10 GBP or more, Dawn will break even in 2019 and we continue in to 2020. Please also share with your friends and colleagues!
