Ant World

Aim

We are raising money to build a zoo specificly for ants so people can see ants from around the world and see how complex their nests are.

We want to build a zoo specificly for ants. The goal is to show people how complex and amazing ants are. It will also allow scientists to understand them more and their way of living. We will either have a building for each continent with their most common and interesting species or a building for each type of ant e.g. leaf cutter, harvester, weaver. We will also run workshop type areas to show people how to keep ants at home and how to find your own queen ant. These workshops will show step by step from setting up a test tube for your new caught ant queen to houseing and feeding large colonies, including how to clean without having escapees. There will also be a shop that will sell all the things you need to look after ants at home e.g. test tubes, formicariums, nests, foods. There will also be lots of merchandise for everything ants and of course we will sell queen ants and larger colonies. Their will be a resturant that will have a large ant colony that will go through tubing or nests in the tables so while you eat you can watch the ants move brood around or foraging for food. If you are lucky enough to find the queen on your table you will get a free gift which will change daily.

£5 child 5-16 years 

£8 adult 16+

£6.50 OAP 60+

There will be family tickets aswell and discounts for large groups and school trips

The money raised here will be used to build the site and get the large ant colonies for displays and setting up manufacturing of everything in the shop.
