Raising funds for the campaign to elect Ann O'Byrne as Labour’s Candidate for Mayor-to radically change the way politics is done in our city
I have pledged not to accept financial support from developers or big business interests, which is why my campaign will rely on grassroots micro donations from Labour members, supporters and trade unionists.
If you can spare a few pounds to help us get our message out that will make all the difference.
Why I’m standing to be Labour’s Candidate for Mayor
A decade of austerity means Liverpool faces some of the biggest challenges we've ever faced. I’m standing to be Labour’s Candidate for Mayor because I think I’m the right woman to lead and change our City.
Covid-19 hit us after eleven years of austerity has decimated our economy and public sector. The impact of the pandemic - clinically and economically - has fallen hardest on the most disadvantaged. It would have been far worse if not for the heroic response of our key workers and our communities.
I’ve spent much of the last year setting up and volunteering at a food co-operative. It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve been involved in. At a time of unprecedented hardship and social isolation, we have been able to strengthen community connections and ensure people had access to high quality food.
I’ve been proud to serve as a Labour Councillor for 15 years and served as part of a Labour Cabinet for eight.
The Council has been the last line of defence for our citizens, but I don’t believe we’ve gone far enough in tackling the realities of austerity or exploring the possibilities of meaningful municipal socialism.

To reconnect with the lives of our people, we need to fundamentally change the way politics is done in Liverpool.
It means deepening and expanding democracy, through genuine consultation, enhanced scrutiny and oversight, and greater transparency.
The Council needs to change the way it operates so that all Councillors and all citizens are involved in decision-making.
As Mayor I will:

The mass membership of our Party and our Trade Unions have a wealth of expertise that we have not yet begun to fully use. As Mayor I pledge our membership will have a greater say in how our City is run, to make us a more democratic, fair and equal City.
