Project aim

To raise funds for SUDEP Action (Sudden Unexpected death in Epilepsy) and Epilepsy Action in my sister Brigid's memory

About the project

I am looking forward to travelling back to Longford in Ireland my mum's hometown to run in the Longford Half Marathon on the 30th August 2015 in aid of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) and Epilepsy Action in memory of my little sister Brigid O'Neill who sadly passed away on the  27th November 2001 after suffering a fatal epileptic seizure and drowning in the bath at home. It was a great shock to us all especially myself because I found my little sister in the bath and she had not had a seizure for four and a half years before that fatal day. Brigid was my sister, my best friend and I lost her through a tragedy that should not have happened bit it did because of acts of bullying at work.

Training is difficult because I suffer from arthritis so after the half marathon I will have to have an operation on my big toe and removal of a bunion but I am determined to finish the half marathon and raise as much money as possible for these two very important and personal charities because I will not be able to carry on my charity work for a year after the operation and this will be my final half marathon.

I have raised £200 so far and would like to raise at least £1300 a £100 for every mile for every year since Brigid sadly passed away in 2001. Anyone who can help with sponsorship can contact Anne by phoning her home number on 01932 346998 or on her mobile on 07941 978563 or write to her at 32 Braeside, New Haw, Addlestone, Surrey. KT15 3BJ. Anne's emaill address is [email protected]. All donations are greatly appreciated and will help to give support and information to people with epilepsy and their families.

Thank you for your support in my endeavors.

From Anne O'Neill
