The Charity has been running since 1967. At the Salford branch we have a 24hr call out 365 days a year. We help the animals and wildlife in the surrounding areas of Salford and Manchester. What animals we can't take in at Animals in Distress 55 Silver Street we take in at Animals in Distress Littleborough and vice versa.
Between the two sanctuaries we take in everything from wildlife, cats, dogs, rabbits, rodents, donkeys, horses, reptiles and some farm animals. These can be cruel, neglected cases or basically strays or abandoned for different reasons.
We adopt the animals out where possible after they are vet checked, teeth extractions or anything that needs doing that the vet suggests then microchipped and neutered so we can take more animals in and do the same again. This means we can help even more animals. The staff give their time to hand rearing some animals that don't have a parent.
The Charity has two Charity shops to try and support everything that we do but due to covid with the shops being shut we have lost a lot of income especially over the last two years.
