Aim

Gus has been an important part of HFC for a long time. We want to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Who are we?

Huntly Football Club is a proud community team with a strong tradition and ambition. We provide opportunities for players to perform at a high level while representing our town with passion. Driven by commitment and unity, we continue to build a club that inspires pride on and off the pitch..

We have previously successfully raised funds to allow us to get our players the private surgical attention they need to get them back to fitness and being able to play again in a timescale that sadly is not achievable on the NHS.

As most of you will be aware Angus Grant suffered an injury to his Right Knee in our game at Strathspey on October 25th. Given his previous Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Lateral Knee Ligament injury and subsequent surgery in the same knee 4 years ago we were particularly keen to establish what the exact nature of the underlying injury was on this occasion Angus had an MRI Scan and the good news is that this injury does not involve the structures that were operated on. He does however have a tear of the cartilage in the lateral compartment of the back of his knee. He has been to see Professor Gordon Mackay who has confirmed that this requires surgical intervention to sort the problem. Angus will undergo the surgery on January 14th. Angus had a fantastic season 24/25 culminating in winning the Highland League Player of the Year and Top Goal-Scorer Awards Angus gives everything for our club and we want to do everything we can to get him back playing again as quickly as is possible.

Huntly FC will of course be contributing to the cost of the surgery , but non planned expenditure like this presents a significant financial challenge for our club As a result we have already begun fundraising initiatives to help cover the cost of the surgery Your help with this latest initiative would be massively appreciated by Angus and everyone at the club.

Thank you as always for your support.
