We're still collecting donations
On the 6th May 2024 we'd raised £3,020 with 86 supporters in 58 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

We will employ more Talented Women onto our crew.
It will help in our post production for composition, studio rental, edit packages and for our run at film festivals worldwide.
Access to better higher quality filming equipment, better food and materials for use during filming.
Pay our crew travel costs and/or provide accommodation while filming in the more remote locations so the crew don't have to drive extra hours each day.
This will help maintain the mental health and safety of the crew.
It will help us access the beautiful locations and showcase NI's natural beauty.
Without giving too much away (No spoilers here!) An Ríomh is a dark high concept psychological thriller with an ancient Irish aesthetic.
It is inspired by the women of celtic mythology. Selkies, sirens, hags, Will 'o' the wisps. The real inspiration behind the myths and legends are often terribly tragic. They're painted as a villain but often they're just seeking retribution for what was done to them.
This is a modern take on the women of these myths and legends. A woman taken advantage of with dire consequences, she becomes a conduit for the women; mothers, daughters, sisters who've gone before her. Abused, killed, tormented. Their voices urge her "Enough is enough." and she becomes the "An Ríomh" the Reckoning.
I want to build a majority (if not entirely) female/female identifying crew to tell Aine's Story.
We are very lucky to have the support of NI Screen behind us and we are so close to being able to produce this fabulous project. We just need a your support.
An Ríomh is supported by NI Screen, but we are looking for additional funding to help us access the beautiful locations we would like to film at, to be able to pay everyone involved a fair rate, and pay their travel, to get the equipment essential for making this look as brilliant as it can.
Stories of women being abused, trafficked, assaulted and murdered are so commonplace nowadays most people barely bat an eyelid.
Women have been conditioned into always sharing their location, carrying keys between their fingers, not walking alone at night or down a dark path out of fear.
Entire companies and industries have been established and built on this fear. Nail polish that changes colour if your drinks been spiked, Self defence classes, pink pepper spray cans, rings that have spikes that can cause damage, apps - I could go on.
In 2022/23 there were approximately 4,232 sexual offences recorded by the Police in Northern Ireland. And that is just whats been reported.
91% are female. The numbers have doubled in the last year.
Ireland has been on a Tier 2 or lower status since 2018, as it has been failing to meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking.
Between 2008 and 2019 the number of human trafficking victims identified worldwide more than quadrupled from around 30,000 to nearly 120,000.
In 2022, first responders referred 16,938 potential trafficking victims for care nationwide, a 33 percent increase from 12,727 in 2021. This was the highest recorded number of referrals since the NRM began.
71% of these around the world are women and girls.
Every woman I know has a story. Of fear, of an altercation, of serious assaults, of a millions of micro-aggressions.
If you haven't heard it go and ask a female friend or family member. I dare you.
My name is Eleanor Shannon, I am the Writer and Director of An Ríomh.
I have been working in the film and theatre industry for 5-6 years both behind and in front of the camera. I love the use of visual story telling, how what we watch can effect a change in society and affect us emotionally, mentally and spiritually long after we leave the theatre.
I want to support Women in Film, telling women's stories. And often they aren't given the opportunity to step up, have their voices heard or access the equipment needed to create the work the world needs to be seeing. But they're so talented!
With your help we can create something magical to showcase the beauty of Northern Ireland and the talent of the women working and living here.
