Taking on the Montane Summer Spine Sprint North — a nonstop 43‑mile Pennine Way race — supporting the British Red Cross with the Runderbolts
About My Fundraiser:
I’m raising money in aid of the British Red Cross, proudly representing the Runderbolts community. The British Red Cross provides vital support to people facing crisis — from emergency response and disaster relief to helping vulnerable people and communities rebuild their lives.
The Challenge:
As part of this fundraiser, I’ll be taking on the Montane Summer Spine Sprint North — a non‑stop 43‑mile race along the Pennine Way, running from Brown Rigg to Kirk Yetholm with a strict 18‑hour time limit.
This section of the Pennine Way is known for its remote, mountainous, and highly technical terrain. While 18 hours may sound generous, the route is both physically and psychologically demanding. It requires endurance, resilience, constant concentration, and a high level of self‑sufficiency, making it a true test of mental and physical strength.
Preparation:
With the support and motivation of the Runderbolts community, I’ve been preparing for this challenge by completing both the Brighton Trail Marathon and the London Marathon, building the fitness, stamina, and mental resilience needed for an event of this scale.
Why I’m Doing This:
By taking on this tough challenge as part of the Runderbolts community, I hope to raise £300 and increase awareness of the life‑saving work of the British Red Cross, who support people through their most difficult moments.
Any donation, big or small, would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much for your support ❤️
