An e-bike for Dave Wardle

An opportunity for club members to show their appreciation and get Dave an e-bike to keep him rolling on our Sunday rides and beyond...

This is an opportunity for all club members, past and present, to show their appreciation to Dave by contributing towards an e-bike that will allow him to keep rolling on our Sunday rides and beyond... 

Dave Wardle, the man, the myth, the legend, has worked tirelessly for over 30 years to put on more than 1,000 events for Hillingdon Triathletes, a club he co-founded in 1986. 

In 2020 Dave will be handing over the reins of the club to a new Chairman but will stay on as President. Always happiest on a bike, Dave continues to lead out Sunday rides and joins us on excursions further afield to the likes of the Wye Valley and beyond. Many club members, past and present, have enquired as to how they can show their appreciation to Dave for all of the opportunities he has presented to them, and thousands of other people, over the past few decades and this is it. 

Specified and negotiated by our very own "Bob the Builder", Mark Eidem, we hope to get Dave a road bike that won't look out of place but will give him an extra boost to keep the riders in his group on their toes. 

It's certainly not cheap but it is well built and has the range to boot so please contribute to show what Dave's efforts over the years have achieved to get the club where it is today.  

If the full amount of £4,675 cannot be raised then we will look for a cheaper alternative but we hope you'll agree with us that it's a small gesture relative to everything Dave has done for all of us.
