Everyone wants to belong in their community.
For children with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families, that’s not always easy.
That’s where Amaze comes in.
For children, young people and their families in Sussex, we are here to help families with SEND feel supported, heard and included in their community.
We organise youth groups and coffee mornings for families and young people to connect. We give advice and support on navigating their challenges.
We also offer expert training and workshops to help them understand some of the more complex issues they face, like applying for disability benefits or an education health and care plan (EHCP).
So that no one with a special educational need or disability, or anyone caring for them, feels alone and unsupported.
We need your help too.
Our work is funded thanks to the kind support of many people in our community. But the financial pressures many of us have faced in the last few years have hit Amaze hard too.
Increases in our costs, along with some reductions in funding, mean that we are having to make some changes to the support we offer this year.
This isn’t what we want to happen. With services reduced, some families may not be able to access our support, meaning they have to face some of their challenges alone.
To protect our services into the future, we need your support. We’re aiming to raise £5,000 this spring to help us continue our work supporting families in Sussex.
Your support will help Amaze
By donating to our crowdfunder, you’ll help us continue to help families across Sussex. We do this in many ways, such as:
Youth activities in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex to help young people meet new people, learn new skills and make new friends.
Coffee mornings for parents and carers including our popular dad’s group and our new evening groups to allow parents and carers to share their challenges and receive support.
Offering advice over the phone and by email to help families understand the SEND world and ensure they know what they are entitled to.
Workshops and training in important topics such as applying for DLA or PIP, or annual reviews of EHCPs.
Thank you
Your donations, big or small, will help Amaze keep supporting families. You can make a donation on its own, or claim one of our many rewards for your donation, which have been kindly donated by businesses in our community.
