Aim

My aim this year is to rebuild and move forward. To get my first botanical led skincare project off the ground in time for Christmas.

After sharing my quite frankly traumatic story in August on social media, which was an incredibly hard thing to do, I had to be true to myself and true to the people around me. To open up and tell the world, that my own world had crumbled around me for the last nine months.  I shared some very painful experiences and was quite frankly embarrassed about what I have been through and had taken from me. The support I had was overwhelming and despite been very much on the back foot, I realised that so many other people had gone through, or were going through what I was experiencing. Despite being reduced to literally 5 bin liners of clothes and nothing else. I have to, like we all have to, pick myself up and move forward. Because one thing that can never be taken away, is my lifes work in botanicals, my recognition as an authority on wild plants and my work with some of the best chefs in the world, my integrity and respect of my peers. That was down to me and what matters most to me, is my reputation and my love for botanicals. 

But life doesn't stand still and now that my head is in a much better place and coping. I want to move onwards and upwards as they say. I have talked quite a bit lately on social media about what I personally use botanicals for and I would love to share with you my secrets to good looking skin, that I have used for many years on myself, because lets face it, sometimes foraging can literally be a walk in the park, but more often than not, your getting sandblasted on a beach in a gale force 10, or the wind is whipping the tears from your eyes, the extreme heat, drying my skin to parchment then the next month, the fat pad on my chin has frozen. Weathered does not begin to cover the trials and tribulations that my skin has had to face over the years and I realised early on which plants were best suited to protecting me from the worst and at 55 am not perfect, but could be a lot worse. 

I need your support in moving forward, its not charity, its not a hand out. I want to give you options to take from me, from £15 upwards, unique opportunities and access to early products from a limited edition first launch that other people won't have access to. 

This will help me get all my compliance completed, the products are already finalised for testing, and am so excited to share with you what I have been using for years on my skin. It will help move forward with my packaging and manufacturing and ultimately, will be my new beginning for my new life. So, yes I do need your support. 

The aim is to bring skincare that follows the seasons, starting with Winter and progressing to Spring, Summer and Autumn, much the same way I work with my chefs and that seasonal botanicals are by far the best way to look after my skin and now your skin. Skincare that is not made to a price for maximum profit, not ridiculously priced, but does a job that your skin is going to thank you for. I want my skin to feel moisturized, cared for, soft to touch. hydrated and protected. Its taken years of finding out what are the best seasonal ingredients for my skin, but it works and I want that knowledge to work for you too. If you get confused by all the science around peptides, Q10 enzymes, retinal this retina that. Then this is the skincare for you, because I want your skin to feel good when you wake up, when your walking the dog in the cold in the morning, When your getting ready to go out and you need your make up to go on without being cakey, when you put that last bit of cream on your face before you sleep. So many practical considerations and I want to go back to basics and use the best botanical oils, extracts and butters combined with my botanical knowledge and expertise, to make you want to buy more and keep coming back. 

So your support in making this happen sooner rather than later is absolutely essential and I hope you either buy for yourself, or as a gift for someone else. I have also included something, that I never even did for top chefs and that is to do personal foraging days.  

On a final note, I have very very rarely ever taken anybody to my secret foraging spots, so if you do choose this option. It will be in Doncaster for the best foraging and you will have the best day out. Then if you choose the coastal foraging day, it will be just down from Cleethorpes and bear in mind its not the safest day out and details will need to be gone through, but it will be great fun. 

And... final final note, helping me get this project off the ground with your amazing support means the world to me, I am over the moon to be able to offer you some really good botanical skincare products that have helped me over the years to keep my skin in tip top condition. Its really aimed for the over 40s, through menopause and beyond when we lose so much moisture from our faces. I want your skin to feel as good as mine does everyday. No skin cream is every going to make you look 20 years younger, I just believe in having really good botanical ingredients do the heavy lifting and replenishment is key.
