Alwoodley CC Cricket Net Fund

Aim

Alwoodley CC are in dire need of a new net facility for our 150+ juniors & 30+ seniors to be able to train effectively for years to come.

Who are we?

We are a volunteer run local cricket club based in the heart of Alwoodley. We have over 200 members from the community who regularly play Britain's summer sport at the club. 

We have three adult teams playing league cricket on weekends and an adult team that play on Thursday evenings. We also have also have a thriving junior section of over 130 junior providing cricket training and matches all the way from Under 9s to Under 18s, coached by volunteers from the cricket club.  

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are fundraising because our current practice facilities are well beyond their useful life and falling apart, meaning our senior and junior teams don’t have a safe and effective place to practice. The nets are fundamental to our members training and development, so it is our number one priority!

The new nets will also increase training capacity, offer an improved space for 1-2-1 coaching and will also enable different teams to simultaneously train in the nets and play matches on the pitch. 

We have a strong dedicated base of members who contribute a lot of their time and skills to the club but the nets are a significant development, and therefore we need your help.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Our plan is to install is an ECB approved two-lane non-turf net facility. This will include extensive groundworks, laying down a top of the range all weather matting, the erection of the supports, and all weather netting and lockable gates.

The cost of the nets are £45,000 which is a significant investment. We have set ourselves the target of £20,000 for this Crowdfunding which will be a huge towards the required funding. The remaining funds will be raised through our big club raffle that will take place during the season, existing club reserves, EWCT Interest free loan scheme and  potential grant funding.

Anything and everything you can do to support us gets us closer to our goal!

1. Donate and Support. Every pound counts! Your donation will go directly to the funding of our new net facilities. With the support of our members and local community, we're offering really nifty rewards which you can bag for yourself!

2. Spread the word. We know from previous Crowdfunder's that we've been able to reach people in our community we've not reached before from people sharing within their network so please share our project on social media, tell your friends and family, via email, phone, any which way you can! The more people we reach, the the close we will get to our goal. 

3. Check our rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
