Alva Community Cafe & Warm Space

Aim

Help us continue to provide Warm Spaces and help to our local community by donating towards our increased energy costs

At Alva Parish Church our vision is to "reach out to all the people of Alva with God's love" 

We have been running a community cafe each Tuesday morning and we have recently turned this into a new Warm Space for members of the local community to access our building for warmth, hot drinks and home baking. It's an opportunity to meet new people, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy some quiet time.

We have been running a weekly Food Larder, since this started as a pop up initiative in the summer of 2022. We have seen an increase in need for this service as the cost of living crisis has started to take hold. Users of the service can also take advantage of the warmth of the building and the refreshments on offer.

We also run a weekly youth club for children from P1 - P7. We regularly have between 80 - 100 children over the 3 sessions and it is a chance for them to build friendships and community whilst having fun.

Any money that is raised through this project will go towards covering our increasing electricity costs to help keep these spaces warm over the winter.
