Warm & Energy Efficient Space

Aim
To be a warm space from 31/01/23, 11am - 11pm Tues to Sat. A welcoming, social & community driven space with art at its core.
This is a Crowdfunder to help us support with our rising costs of being a warm space, we have been open since Mid October and from 11am - 11pm, Tuesday to Saturday, in January we are having to do some essential maintenance work before we reopen again.
We are providing a warm, welcoming space where there isn’t pressure to spend money. A much-needed space in a cold city like ours but also an enjoyable space – a social and community driven space with art and creativity at its core. We continue to offer high quality socioeconomically accessible art for all. And we’ll continue to help artists survive financially, advocating to use creativity to tell the stories that need to be heard in interesting and entertaining ways.
Here’s what Alphabetti Theatre will be offer to share some joy and help our community:
- Free internet access
- Free electricity access
- Free heat/warm space
- Free sit-in and read play/poetry library
- Free colouring in/arts and crafts activities
- Free darts
- Occasional cuddles with the theatre dog Rex, when he’s in!
- £1 mugs of Tea, Coffee and hot/cold cordial (free to those who can’t afford it)
- Cheese toasties for £2.50 or a meal deal for a fiver (vegan & gluten free available)
We are launching this Crowdfunder as there is match funding for charities like us so everything that we raise is matched by Crowdfunder's partner organisations. This is what we want help with:
- Our utilities have increased by 248%, we budgeted for it to be closer to 150% increase so that’s pretty staggering!
- We would like to be able to offer:
- A free pool table if we can get it up from the south.
- Pay what you feel workshops and services like:
- Cooking on a budget classes,
- Pay What You Feel Haircuts/ shaves,
- Pay what you feel printing and photocopying services,
- Financial advice for freelancers and debt management/ consolidation for those who need it,
- Techy tea party for those who want to get the most out of their devices.
- Facilitated Arts and Crafts sessions for all ages
- And much more
- We’d also like to improve our sustainability by replacing our windows from single pane to the most eco and cost effective.
We understand that everyone is struggling at the moment but if you can afford anything it would be greatly greatly appreciated. We have some great rewards or you can just be content with that warm feeling. If you don’t have any money perhaps you have a rich friend or relative you can pass it onto!
