To modernise the clubhouse facilities at Allt Yr Yn lawn tennis club to improve the experience of players, their families and visitors.
We are a friendly and inclusive local community Tennis Club with great playing facilities, comprising 8 floodlit all weather tennis courts.
Our well used Clubhouse provides changing facilities for players, along with an upstairs viewing facility and members' bar and social space. As well as supporting tennis events, our Clubhouse is a focal point for community events, linked to the objective of the Tennis Club of providing a sustainable, long-term, high-quality tennis facility to the people of Newport and its surrounding area.
The Clubhouse has not been renovated since it was built in 1995 and is now in need of an update to modernise its facilities and offer more attractive facilities to our members and visitors. This will include improved changing room facilities for our female members and improved disabled access to our toilets.
Our project will modernise our Clubhouse facilities, as shown below.
A broad breakdown of our expenditure will be:
table tennis entrance hall £10000
Ladies WC and changing room £15000
lobby (including trophies and Club history) £7500
bar £7500
upstairs meeting room and social area £20000
Project Cost £60000
less Club funding from balances already in place £15000
Balance of funding needed (inc match funding) £45000

Our Club has provided inclusive tennis facilities to the people of Newport for almost 100 years and we have very active senior and junior sections, along with social members (including a very successful pool team that plays in Newport's local league).
Improving our facilities will be specifically targeted at female and disabled users but will also benefit all members of the Club, visitors and the local community by providing an improved space to support our on-court tennis activities and provide a related social hub for our community.
We will modernise our ladies changing facilities, including making accessible for the disabled.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
