We did it! We hit our target and have been match-funded by the North East Local Ente...
Aim: Kickstart the Allendale Challenge for 2021 and help raise vital funds for North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team.
The Allendale Challenge is an annual running/walking event that covers 26 miles in the North Pennines and is organised by the North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise vital funds for the team. The event was first organised in 1987 and has a loyal following with participants returning every year to have a go at what many consider to be one of the toughest challenges around.
Sadly with the outbreak of Covid-19, we had to cancel the Challenge this year. The event provides a large part of our annual fundraising so the financial impact has been challenging. Made up entirely of professional and skilled volunteers, the service is a charity which receives no funding, relying upon kind donations to keep the team operational.
The team have been given the opportunity to use the Crowdfunder platform to open entries early and allow people the chance to purchase entry into the event at an early bird discount. As well as generating much-needed funds, North East Local Enterprise Partnership will be providing match funding up to £5,000, which will provide a huge boost for the team.
Your voucher code for entry into the Allendale Challenge will be valid for 2 years.
As well as the standard early bird entry which has been discounted by £5, there are also other rewards available that include Mountain Rescue Team branded clothing, with all funds going towards helping us to reach our fundraising goal. If you select one of these rewards, we will post your clothing out to the address you provide. Please note, you will still receive your Allendale Challenge T-Shirt as part of your entry into the event.
