Aim

In 1967 Highgate's Tony Allden was tragically killed by lightning. For the 50th anniversary we're aiming to name our stand & release a book

Highgate United's Tony Allden was tragically killed after being struck by lightning during an FA Amateur Cup game v Enfield in 1967. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the tragic event, the club are planning a number of commemorative events, including:

25 February 2017
We're aiming to re-name our stand "The Tony Allden Memorial Stand” with a brand new sign to be unveiled by his brave widow and sister, making their first visit to Tythe Barn Lane since that tragic day 50 years ago. Also in attendance will be members of the 1966/67 team we have managed to locate. We need your help to pay for the manufacture and installation of the sign.

Spring 2017
"when suddenly tragedy struck" A book packed with images and full of facts detailing the amazing cup run and Tony's life that ultimately ended in tragedy. We're hoping to release it to coincide with the anniversary, but we need your help to fund the printing and publishing of the book.

July 2017
A pre-season friendly v Enfield Town, a pheonix club of the now folded Enfield. We need to help fund their travel arrangements.

July 2017
A charity match, featuring many ex-professionals of local clubs. We need help with publicity and purchasing raffle prizes. All profits that day going to 'Liam's Smiles' a charity in support of Meningitis Now.

To help fund these and other planned tributes to Tony Allden we need your help. Highgate United is a club that is proudly run by volunteers, so please pledge whatever you can afford. It will be really appreciated and in return we offer a number of rewards. Every penny will help, thank you.
