Who are we?

Powered By Sport is a charity dedicated to using sport as a tool to positively impact our communities' mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, has access to sporting opportunities that foster inclusivity, teamwork, and joy. One of our key ambitions has been to create a brand-new, all-ability sport—Inline Sled Hockey—an exciting adaptation of Para Ice Hockey. Since 2016, we have been working tirelessly to develop this sport, ensuring it is accessible to all. Now, with the latest generation of specially designed sleds, we are ready to bring this vision to life and introduce Inline Sled Hockey across Northern Ireland and beyond

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are crowdfunding to launch our "All Ability Sport Project," which will introduce Inline Sled Hockey to communities across Northern Ireland. Thanks to Crowdfunder.co.uk and Sport NI, if we raise £5,000, they will match it, helping us reach our £10,000 goal.

These funds will allow us to run school taster sessions and pilot programmes, making this sport accessible to over 400 people, both disabled and able-bodied. Our goal is to create a level playing field where individuals of all abilities can enjoy sport together, breaking down barriers and promoting inclusion. By supporting us, you’ll be helping to create a sustainable sporting movement that fosters friendships, builds confidence, and provides a fun and engaging way for people to stay active.

How we’ll spend the money raised

If we reach our £10,000 target, we will:

• Deliver school taster sessions to 10 primary schools across Northern Ireland, introducing young people to the sport.
• Launch a six-week pilot programme in three locations, offering weekly sessions for participants of all ages at our Social Enterprise sports centre.
• Provide equipment and coaching to ensure everyone has the opportunity to take part, regardless of their ability.
• Promote awareness and engagement, building the foundation for future leagues and competitive opportunities.

Every donation will directly support getting more people involved in all-ability sports, ensuring that Inline Sled Hockey becomes an established and widely available activity.

Community impact
