Help us build an accessible boardwalk and make further improvements across Alexandra Park Wetlands.
Milestone reached! 🎉 We’re absolutely blown away! Thanks to your continued generosity, we have now reached our stretch target of £20,000.
The boardwalk is secured and every additional donation from this point on will allow us to go even further in improving access to the entire Wetlands area in the south-east corner of the park, not only building the boardwalk, but also upgrading the bridges and improving the paths.
As you can see from the map below, we are aiming to improve the entire wetland route by replacing and upgrading all the bridges crossing the wetlands.

The campaign is still live, and with this new match funding, there has never been a better time to donate. Please keep sharing the link and spreading the word to help us make this corner of Alexandra Park the best it can be for both people and wildlife!
What your donation builds
Friends of Alexandra Park and Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust are joining forces to create a fully accessible boardwalk through the wetlands in the south east corner of Alexandra Park – one of north London’s most loved green spaces.
Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust has already invested in transforming the south-east corner of the park, with phase one, funded by £50,000 from the Mayor of London's Rewild London Fund, completed in early 2025. New water channels, drainage works and tree management have already begun tackling flooding and opening up the canopy. By diverting excess water, the project will ensure the park remains accessible year-round for all visitors, from families and dog walkers to those with mobility needs, while fostering a healthier, more resilient ecosystem for the long term.
The boardwalk is a key part of the next phase of the project: opening this remarkable corner of the park to everyone.
Why a Boardwalk?
"By installing a boardwalk, we are opening access to the middle birding platform, locally known as Bruce’s platform making it accessible to every member of our community. Celebrating 20 years of the Friends of the Park, we are fundraising to build a lasting feature for generations to come”
— Trish of the Friends of Alexandra Park.

Why now?
This project marks a milestone year. The Friends of Alexandra Park have championed this green space for two decades this June. The boardwalk project marks 20 years of community conservation and stewardship of the Park.
Meanwhile, Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust are working to secure grant funding towards other elements of the wetlands scheme. Community support for the boardwalk now helps us make the case for the wetlands project in our ongoing fundraising.
The campaign closes 15 June. Whether you give £10 or £100, you'll be part of making this happen.

£100 and above: Your name on a donor board in the Park. Every visitor who walks through the wetlands will pass it for years to come.
The name shown on your pledge will be the name used on the donor board.
Understanding our target
Our initial appeal target reflected the total needed to deliver the core boardwalk in Alexandra Park wetlands.
Because we hit that target so quickly, all funds raised in excess of £10,000 are now dedicated to replacing and upgrading the bridges crossing the wetlands. This ensures the area is safe and accessible.
Our new match funding pot applies to the next £2000 worth of donations, until fully allocated.
