Aldbourne Tennis Club - Court Resurfacing

Aim

To enable the much needed resurfacing of our courts we are looking to raise £20,000 to add to funds already accumulated from membership.

We hope you have come to this Crowdfunding page because you are interested in the future of Tennis in Aldbourne. Our Club has been in existence for about 100 years, during which the surfaces have been renewed a number of times – and that need is upon us again. It is proposed to take the opportunity to upgrade the surface to one of artificial grass, half-filled with sand; this is long-lasting, low-maintenance, kinder to the knees and more playable in frosty conditions.

To make the upgrade we are looking for £20,000 to add to the £40,000 already aside. We have applied to Sport England to match monies raised through Crowdfunding. It is hoped to achieve the £20,000 by the end of March which will enable the surface to be renewed for the coming season. 

This is the first time we have asked for financial support from the wider village community as well as current members. Junior membership is increasing and we believe that with improved facilities more people will be encouraged to keep fit by playing sport – tennis in particular!
